   Timur Khaliullin

   Cast by Vera LLC, Voronezh;
   dedicated 9 May 2023;
   now the largest carillon in the world.
   Playing console above the bells.

*Technical data:

   Traditional carillon of 78 bells
   Pitch of heaviest bell (excluding sub-bourdon) is C in the bass octave
   Transposition is nil (concert pitch)
   Keyboard range:     G E 70/(A#)C G
   There is one missing bass semitone
   The presence or absence of a practice console is unknown
   The whole instrument was installed in 2023
     with bells made by the maker cited in Remarks above
   No auxiliary mechanisms known
   Tower details not available
   Year of latest technical information source is 2023

NOTE:  Since this carillon breaks the previous world records for both the heaviest and the largest traditional carillon, it also exceeds the capability of the database underlying this Website to record its description accurately.  What is here shown as a sub-bourdon (A#) does not actually fit our usual definition of such a bell, because there is only one missing semitone between it and the "bourdon" (C).

YouTube video (2:59)

YouTube video (18:50) posted May 11, 2023, about the dedication day ceremonies; unfortunately the amateur videographer pans the phone camera too fast to get a good view of anything.

Where this work lies in the sequence of output of miscellaneous bellfoundries, in this region and in the world.
