*Remarks:

   Glockenspiel with animated figures.
   Formerly listed as South Yarmouth,
   which is not the actual location.
   Not known whether sub-bourdon is usable
   from keyboard; cast in 1942, it
   was originally used for hour strike by
   the E.Howard tower clock visible in
   the tower base. In 2013, Elderhorst
   Bells replaced clock drives, strikers
   and controls with Clock-O-Matic system;
   now plays only one short tune
   instead of two longer tunes.
   June 2022: tower clock not running,
   automatics at wrong times,
   apparently no animation.
   Apr.2025:  Christmas Tree Shops closed,
   and will be replaced by a Best Buy;
   tower dismantled, but new bell tower
   planned for elsewhere on the property.

News story on the change of ownership; Best Buy plans to open in fall 2026, and there are plans for a new bell tower at a different location on the property, using the original bells from 1980s.

The chain store Website has no information specific to this store.  Formerly it provided an audio clip of bells playing, but that seems to have been removed.

A waymarking page has a gallery of photos of the tower, including a closeup of the belfry which shows not only the large hour bell but also the tiny bells of the automatic carillon.  But the visitor who waymarked this only noticed the big clock bell.

Where this work lies in the sequence of output of the Petit & Fritsen bellfoundry, in this region and in the world.
