The proprietorship of this bellfoundry changed over the course of its first half-century of operation as follows:
The bellfoundry which we have designated "Meneely (Troy)", referenced in the first paragraph on this page, was operated by Clinton Hanks Meneely, the third son of Andrew Meneely. Both firms manufactured a variety of other metal products at various times. The two Meneely foundries had no connection other than the blood relationships of their principals. They competed vigorously (and sometimes bitterly) with each other throughout their dual existence.
Historic marker at the location of the Meneely (Watervliet) bellfoundry, with extensive photos and descriptions.
The interconnections between the Meneelys and the several Hanks bellfounders and industrialists are shown in a different manner on a Hanks genealogy page.
