*Remarks:

   Tower was designed for the carillon,
   and completed in 1876.
   First 33 bells were cast in 1872 by
   Severin van Aerschodt, Louvain,
   delivered in 1887 but not installed.
   Last two bells were cast in 1899 by
   Felix van Aerschodt, who also
   installed the carillon.  Three octaves,
   including keyboard D# but not C# or
   F#; 8 basses hung for change-ringing.
   Destroyed by fire in September, 1940;
   scrap metal recast into a ring of 8
   by Mears, 1953.

   Carillon-sized instrument or collection, no longer in existence (defunct), of 35 bells
   Pitch of heaviest bell is C# in the middle octave
   Keyboard range:     C C   /    ----  
   Transposition is up  1 semitone(s), i.e., from C to C#
   The arrangement of tones and/or semitones
     is non-standard; see Remarks above.
   There is no practice console
   The whole instrument was installed in 1899
     with bells made by vanAerschodt
