The university Website has a history page with photos of the tower, which recounts changes in the building; but this appears to be the only mention of the carillon.

A July 1951 newspaper article, continued here,  here  and here, reported the planned installation at Lander College of a 37-bell Vanbergen carillon that had recently been displayed at the Fourth International Trade Fair in Toronto.  Apparently, financing could not be arranged, and that carillon was eventually removed.
