Chime was made in 1893 for FMEC, given by George Holl as a memorial to his parents, whose names are on the bass. The church being not yet ready, the chime was loaned by McShane to cele- brate the centennial of laying the cornerstone of the U.S.Capitol. (Fortunately, it had one bell for each of the 13 colonies.) Added semitones are 4#, 5#, 7b. First Methodist Church building was owned by Cooper Hospital, 1969-98; demolished in 2005.
