   persed them individually, perhaps after
   tuning them.

The History page of the Metropolitan Memorial Methodist church has a photo of the original building (after the spire was added), and mentions this chime.  That building closed in 1930, and the property was sold to the federal government, with the congregation relocating elsewhere, and eventually changing its name.
